Watch Hulu Streaming Videos Anywhere in the World
Try Graboid for over 60,000 movies and tv shows, all streamed or downloaded to your PC.
Hulu.com is popularly known as a free online video service that offers hit TV shows including Family Guy, 30 Rock, the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Lost, The Tonight Show with Conan o Brien, The Simpsons, Naruto Shippuden etc. etc. etc.
It says there FREE! yes absolutely BUT only if you reside within the United Sates of America (USA). If you really like TV shows like these and you happen to be residing outside America then poor you, Hulu won’t allow you to stream their videos period.
A typical content message when you try to watch hulu videos outside US would be this:
We’re sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed within the United States. For more information on Hulu’s international availability, click here.
Over the past month, Hotspot Shield has become the main application to sneak and bypass IP filtering of Hulu but unfortunately, that didn’t last long. Hulu finally blocked users who are using Hotspot Shield to stream their videos and left us nothing again. Sure you can use third party VPN but how much are you willing to pay for their service? Wouldn’t be nice that everything in your internet would be free (specially watching TV shows)?
Ok, enough said. After Hotspot Shield, I have discovered that an application of AOL called AOL Desktop can let you stream Hulu videos in any part of the world. What it does is, it changes your IP address into a US IP address and that in return will make Hulu videos accessible right away.
Here’s how we can Watch Hulu Video using AOL Desktop
1. First, create a free email of AOL, get it here: https://new.aol.com/freeaolweb/?ncid=snsuswebr00000004&promocode=824087&promocode2=806077&icid=snstest8
2. Download AOL Desktop and install it on your PC. Mac users, click here.
3. Open AOL Desktop and click sign-in at the upper right hand of the screen.
4. Check if you’re email is working by logging in using the username and password that you have created in step 1.
5. Once you have successfully logged in, sign out of AOL.
6. Sign in again, but this time BEFORE you click the “sign-in button” click on “connection options” first.
7. Now under connect options, select advanced broadband settings (see picture).
8. Click continue and create a new broadband profile (see picture) and then choose Home Network under Connection Type and save.

9. You will now have an AOL connection on your system tray (beside the time). Sign in with your username and password and choose the profile you created under connection. (see picture)
10. Once connected, check your IP address using http://whatismyipaddress.com/. If you see a screenshot like this:
11. Fire up your favorite browser( Firefox or Internet Explorer) and log in to Hulu.com and watch unlimited Hulu streaming videos all day, all night for FREE. Enjoy!

Doesn’t work on Mac.
use the download link for MAC.
No proxy config for Mac client – doesn’t work.
sORRY BUT I GET A UK ipadress from the netherlands and not the USA one….
@mike
hmmm, let me check on that one
hi. everything seems to work up until you try to access the video. instead of the usual “this video won’t work in your region”, it says “sorry, unable to stream this video, please check your internet connection and try again”. i’m assuming you’re from manila, may i ask what connection you’re using?. i’m using smart bro.. do you think its the connection speed’s the problem?.. i’m getting around 512mbps
sorry. i meant 0.512mb/s (but if you connect through AOL dialer, it slows down to around 0.10mb/s.
Now, that’s a great hack! Thx very much for idea & instructions. Hulu’s back
@teejsy
hey teejsy,
yep. connection should be at least 1Mbps. I’m using Globe Broadband.
you’re welcome. spread the word!
Just tried exactly as written and ended up with an IP address in Germany. My current location is Hong Kong…obviously Hulu didn’t work. Any way to get a US location?
Hey I can’t find where the “connection options” button or whatever is on the mac version…please help
hmm thats weird. It should always be a US ip.
Just installed v10 and got the USA IP no problems. I did the
download and install from a UK vpn address (curious to see
if I would get a UK IP from AOL) but after following the
instructions got the same results as the Admin.
Hulu worked fine, I watched a John Stewart clip and it
was rock solid.
This is a nice bit of work and must give a big thanx to
Camp HD on this one.
>>hmm thats weird. It should always be a US ip.
If their available slots are filled they might route
traffic to an available foreign address. In that case just
reconnecting a couple of times might solve the problem.
I have exactly the same problem as sam…I can’t find the connection settings on the mac version of the aol desktop…help
im using a mac, in singapore, and i cant get the IP address for a US location either. can someone help?
thats what you get for using macs. macs suck.
I had some difficulty when trying to install AOL and change the Connect Options. What I discovered is that I had downloaded AOL version 10.1. I un-installed it and downloaded the old “beta” version of AOL 9.5. The directions above were very detailed and made the installation very easy. I am an American living in Asia and now can watch all that hulu has to offer along with any other web site that restricts streaming outside the United States. Personally I don’t mind living in Wichita Kansas at all (grin) Thanks to all who were instrumental in providing this “clue”. I tried several other schemes that all were detected by hulu.
@Bob-M
I also posted another alternative if in case AOL Browser breaks down.
I’m glad it worked out for you.

Unfortunately, this does not seem to work behind the GFW (Great Firewall.)
If there was some way to route the connection through a VPN such as UltraReach to get past the firewall, and then hop onto AOL’s server from there to fool Hula into thinking one wasn’t using a proxy, that would be a solution.
Unfortunately, choosing home network seems to disable the option to use a proxy, and none of the other choices seem to route the connection through AOL.
Does anyone know if it is possible to force AOL Desktop to go through my proxy, whether it likes it or not?
works for me
thanks so much for your help!
Those of you who are looking for a US proxy. If you can’t get this site try this address 72.44.54.167

tried to sign up for aol but when i got to the ’submit’ all the info, connection timed out. Repeated attempts to reload the link above to aol failed as did ‘aol.com’. what’s up?
this thing is the only working thing…
you rock man
The aol link did not work for me. Told me it would not be able to proceed with the setup.
I have just tried setting up AOL. That was ok, but there is no ‘connection options’ anywhere near the ’sign in’ area. I have looked all over the page and can’t find where it is so that I can click it.
It said the same thing to me as well. I had click the ‘No Thanks’ at the bottom left of the screen by accident, also it didn’t like my password. Try starting over again make up another username and password and make sure you put in a US postcode…it didn’t my UK one.
I can’t find the ‘connections options’ its not on the AOL page! I can obviously see ’sign in’ but nothing else…please help!!
