Verizon’s Droid X is an amazing cell phone. With a screen to die for, an incredible camera and a screaming processor, this is one of the best smartphones in a very crowded market. But with that new phone you have a slew of Droid X accessories that promise to make that phone more functional, attractive and safe.

With a screen so large, a case is more than recommended to help protect it. Fortunately, there are a good many available on the market right now. They come in two main varieties: rubberized silicon and hard cases. Hard cases are nice because of their smooth texture and optimal protection. While many brands are good, I would recommend the Motorola DROID X Xtreme MB810 skin case. Not only is it cheap, it has a basket weave texture that makes it easy to grip. A screen protector is also a good addition to your device if you are at all worried about scratching the screen. The Skinomi TechSkin screen protector is a good option in this market. Once you have your device protected, it is time to hook it up in fashion. Motorola Droid X desktop cradles make it very convenient to hook it up to charge while also featuring HDMI out. So rather than fumbling with each cable individually, the cradle can be used to set up the wiring before hand so that you can just drop your device in the cradle and instantly have it hooked up to your television and charging. There are not really any third party cradles on the market, so your only choice is to go with the official Verizon one. The cradle alone won’t be of much use on the road without a really good pair of headphones to accommodate you. JBuds J3M Micro Atomic In-Ear Earphones with Microphone are a great option. While it is true that you can find better sounding headphones, most are meant for standalone MP3 players and so lack a microphone. These are the better sounding headphones you can get that feature a microphone.

If you have a high definition TV, you must not forget to buy an HDMI cable. The Droid X has an HDMI out port that allows you to watch your phone’s contents on your tv. The Fosmon HDMI to Micro HDMI Cable will suit your needs nicely. There are also a number of third party Droid X chargers on the market. The USB cable will be sufficient for indoor charging, but consider buying a car charger like the PowerJolt USB Charger. Lastly, you will probably want a bluetooth headset. Ear buds with a mic can feature great sound, but they cut you off from everyone else. There are thousands of bluetooth headsets on the market and more being added every day. But I favor Plantronic’s Voyager Pro headset. Regardless of its odd design, these headsets are relatiavely cheap and have great sound.

Buying the Droid X does not end your purchasing spree. There are numerous accessories that will make your amazing phone even better. Whether it is a bluetooth headset or a charging cradle, it will make your phone even more lust worthy than it already is. Just be careful: you may become addicted to your smartphone.
