Accessories For The New Samsung Galaxy Tab

October 28th, 2010 No comments

If you have just purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab, or if you plan on getting it sometime in the near future, then you may be wondering how to make it even better. Ever since Apple’s iPad was deemed a success, everyone knew that it was only a matter of time before they began to have some serious competition from other phone and computer manufacturers. Although there are already some tablets and alternatives for the iPad, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is unique in that it runs Google’s Android operating system. As good as the Samsung Galaxy Tab already is, it can be made much better through the judicious purchase of a few accessories. Let’s take a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab accessories you can buy to take your device to the next level.

One of the first accessories you should consider are Samsung Galaxy Tab cases. With a device as cool and useful as this, you want to make sure that it lasts for a long time. Without a good case, your Samsung Galaxy Tab will collect dirt and grime, and it will become scratched up much more quickly. In the worst case, you could drop and break your Samsung Galaxy Tab. A good case can also save you money on the long run. Leather cases and rubber cases are both great at absorbing external shocks and at protecting your device from wear and tear.

When you are looking at Samsung Galaxy Tab cases, one thing that you will want to focus on is the aesthetics of the case. While it is important to get a case that will protect your device from damage, you also want your Samsung Galaxy Tab to look good. Since your covering your Galaxy Tab with this protector case, you might as well get it in your favorite color or in a design that appeals to you. Many people like to get a case that features their favorite sports team.

Another one of the first Samsung Galaxy Tab accessories you should consider are Samsung Galaxy Tab screen protectors. During the course of using your new tablet device, it is inevitable that damage will accumulate on your screen. This is particularly true since this is a touch-screen device, so you will constantly be touching the screen. Your oily fingers can cause the screen to become blurry and to require regular cleanings. Even cleaning your device can be risky, since the liquid cleaner can penetrate through the cracks of the device. It’s much better to use Samsung Galaxy Tab screen protectors, which can then be easily wiped down if too much oil or grease accumulate. Samsung Galaxy Tab screen protectors will also prevent your display from becoming scratched.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a great device that is sure to provide you with hours and hours of fun and productivity on the go. It would be a shame if you had to replace this great device much sooner than you normally would need to simply because you failed to protect it. Purchase the right Samsung Galaxy accessories, and you won’t regret it.

The Newly Released T-Mobile G2

October 25th, 2010 No comments

Samsung’s new Galaxy S series has been bringing high quality phones into the market, which are available to all major US carriers. Now T-Mobile is gaining the G2 in addition to the Galaxy S Vibrant. The new G2 combines nearly every good feature to the Galaxy S series phones.

The G2 phone has several great features that can be compared to the Galaxy S series. It faithfully delivers a 5-megapixel camera and full wireless capabilities (Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). Most new phones have these features, but it’s good to have the basics covered. The G2 has 4 gigabytes of internal memory, more than the Epic 4G and Fascinate’s 2 gigabytes but short of the Captivate and Vibrant’s 16 gigabytes. The G2 has a microSD card slot expandable up to 32 gigabytes, matching the Captivate and outpacing other series phones. Information about T-Mobile G2 accessories options are promised soon. T-Mobile G2 chargers should of course be included, and standards like official T-Mobile G2 cases are expected. For prices, other Galaxy S phones range from $59 (Captivate) up to $649 (Epic 4G), but the G2’s price is still under wraps. Still, there are specific rate that may be heavilty affected by the carrier associated. We just hope that the G2 will fall competitively withinthis range.

There are some minor drawbacks to the phone though. The phone is actually heavier than any other Galaxy S phone, but only by a single ounce (6.5 ounces versus the Epic 4G’s 5.5). The screen is 3.7 inches (diagonally), which is a surprise since every other Galaxy S phone is 4 inches. That’s not a huge difference, but some may dislike the decreased size. The last negative might be more significant. The G2 has an 800-megahertz processor; all other series phones have a 1-gigahertz processor. The latter is almost expected for modern Android phones, so the slower processor is a bit perplexing. Numbers can sometimes be misleading, so a lot of users might not be able to notice any different.

The G2 also offeres some great features. It does have 4G, joining only the Epic 4G among series phones. Theoretical download speeds reach 14.4 mbps (as stated by T-Mobile), and practical speeds should be fast enough for nearly anyone. (Data coverage can be viewed at T-Mobile’s website.) Fans of Android will love this: the G2 is one of only a handful of phones shipping with Android 2.2 (Froyo), and it’s the only Galaxy S phone that has Froyo preinstalled. It will have Flash support and the most updated, efficient Android OS. The G2 also has a QWERTY keyboard, just like the Epic 4G (the only phone in the Galaxy S series that has this feature). Phone keyboards are a watershed issue, but for what it’s worth, those who have gotten a sneak peak of the phone claim that the keyboard is easy to use.

The G2 continues a line of excellent phones, now offering two great Galaxy S options to T-Mobile customers. This is just an amazing phone for anyone, and it’s the perfect Galaxy S phone for those who want 4G, a physical keyboard, and the most up-to-date Android OS.

Samsung Galaxy Tab’s Hardware And Software

October 25th, 2010 No comments

Unfortunately, no official announcement has yet come out about the release of the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab. Although it hasnt’ been confirmed, word has it that the 7″ version is said to release on November 14, 2010, which the 11″ versoin might be coming out in 2011. It will be available on all 4 major cell carriers in the US (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile), as well as many other carriers worldwide. The price is expected to be $649, with a $50 rebate. It will most likely be only $399 with a 2-year contract. The iPad, by comparison, ranges from $499 to $829. The price is high, but not unreasonable, and its consistent with the iPad, which is currently the only real product in the mobile tablet market. Unfortunately, none of this has been confirmed yet, but these rumors are now considered to be pretty official.

There has been a lot of details leaked about the Galaxy Tab, so let’s discuss it a bit. This will be an Android-based tablet, and is the first of its kind to come to market. The Samsung Galaxy S phone, which this tablet is in many ways just a larger version of, has been available for a couple of months now, and has been very popular.

The Galaxy has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and of course, 3G. Samsung claims that the battery will last for 7 hours of use time, which should be enough for a full day for most people. It has a 1.0 GHz processor, so it should be very responsive and fast. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has very good specs, and is expected to be a success when it comes out.

Like with all other mobile devices, it is likely that most users will want to get Samsung Galaxy Tab accessories. Probably one of the most popular types of accessories will be Samsung Galaxy Tab cases. Because the tablet hasn’t been released yet, we don’t know some things about it, and so it’s hard to predict if additional Samsung Galaxy Tab Batteries will be accessories (the iPad, for comparison, doesn’t have a user accessible battery).

Although we still don’t know certain things about the tablet, like the release date, we do know the pricing. It will be expensive, but after the iPad’s success, it is very possible that this will be a successful product. Many different Android tablets have been announced recently, but none have actually made it to the market, and so the consumer release of this tablet will be the first of its kind. Once again, the rumored release date is November 14, and so far as we can tell, this seems likely.
