A Close Look At Cases And Accessories For The T-Mobile G2

October 29th, 2010 No comments

The T-Mobile G2 will probably have the same anticipation in what kind of accessories it will have. As for all the new upgrades, the G2 will probably have a really sweet and sexy looking design, as well as provide stronger protection of the mobile hardware. It’s no longer just enough for the base unit to have state-of-the-art features (800 MHz CPU, Android 2.2, one touch keyboard, et al.), it’s the third-party snazzy extras like this that complete the stylish wearability, as well as usability of the device.

Of particular note is the G2 skin style cover and G2 screen protector, which some observers already claiming are the “must-have” T-Mobile G2 accessories to get. Since T-Mobile decided not to go with built-in screen protectors in the new design, the door has been opened for third parties to generate their own add-ons for the unit. One company called Skinomi has developed the “TechSkin” protector to keep the G2 absolutely protected, and many other parties will be developing their own screen protectors and skins. Smart phones have never been dressed so smartly as this T-Mobile model will!

There is also many types of skin cases to protect your device, and the T-Mobile G2 skins are just part of the bunch. In fact, the Skinomi Techskin is an add-on that combines both the function of screen protector and a casing in one, which will seriously help protect the versatility and durability of your phone. In general, cases that are set up in a holster-style, yet combined a skin style of protection, mixes very well as a hybrid accessory. They hold the model securely, yet protected from the inevitable scratches the 3.7 inch screen would otherwise pick up.

The T-Mobile G2 screen protector will come in the holster-skin, and traditional glove variations. Again, it’s because of the full protection that gloves provide, while coupled with the ease of still permitting the owner to easily use the device that leads to its popularity as an add-on. With a protective case attached to your phone, it’s just a simple matter of just attaching the G2 to your belt strap, suitcase or purse. The well-equipped G2 user will probably have a set of these accessories to cover a variety of occasions or moods.

Miscellaneous preferences for use of the case include maintenance, durability and other personal considerations. Many customers will probably be selecting rubber coated cases to ensure it’ll last longer, while others will pick silicone because it’s easier to clean. Still others will opt for a stylish look alone, and not care about long-term usage or cleaning. To each his own, there will be a model for one’s taste. And maybe, by the time a G3 device comes out, T-Mobile will finally figured out how to build these vanity or other features right into the machine, instead of making us run around to get these extras ourselves!

Accessories To Consider For The T-Mobile G2

The T-Mobile G2 is a great Android-based smartphone. It was designed specifically by Google, the makers of the Android operating system. That means that is probably one of the best Android phones available, and that Android runs as smooth as ever. It is one of the nicer Android phones, and it features a large, beautiful 3.7″ WVGA touch screen. If you have a G2, then you have probably considered getting T-Mobile G2 accessories.

The most common accessory is a T-Mobile G2 case. A G2 with a case is a sure way of protecting your pricy investment. Although the case doesn’t exactly cover the screen, it may provide protection against bumps and drops. If you are worried about the screen, then you may want to consider getting a screen protector to keep it safe from scratches. There are a number of different types of cases for the G2. Some of the things you might want to look for in a case are a hard or soft shell, a belt clip, and snap on or slide. You might want a specific case depending on your needs and how likely it is your phone will be susceptible to damage.

Another common accessory is a T-Mobile G2 Charger. An extra wall charger or a car charger is great to have to always keep the phone powered on the road. Because of the phone’s large screen size and powerful processor, it can go through its battery very quickly. The battery was specifically designed to last about a full day but extreme users may need to charge it more than often.

If you aren’t sure whether or not you want a G2, then you should definitely consider its specs. The screen size has become standard for Android phones, although there are a few larger. The 1 GHz processor is the fastest processor you can currently get in a phone. It has a tactile keyboard so you can type quickly. It has a nice camera, and the standard array of wireless communication devices – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G / 4G cell phone reception. At $199, it is one of the more expensive Android phones. However, it definitely runs on better hardware than most of the cheaper phones, and it’s great for someone who wants a top notch phone.

There are a number of different accessories which you may want for the T-Mobile G2, which include cases and chargers. These will help to improve the functionality of the phone by making it last longer. However, the G2 is a great phone right out of the box, and provides a great Android experience.

The Newly Released T-Mobile G2

Samsung’s new Galaxy S series has been bringing high quality phones into the market, which are available to all major US carriers. Now T-Mobile is gaining the G2 in addition to the Galaxy S Vibrant. The new G2 combines nearly every good feature to the Galaxy S series phones.

The G2 phone has several great features that can be compared to the Galaxy S series. It faithfully delivers a 5-megapixel camera and full wireless capabilities (Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n). Most new phones have these features, but it’s good to have the basics covered. The G2 has 4 gigabytes of internal memory, more than the Epic 4G and Fascinate’s 2 gigabytes but short of the Captivate and Vibrant’s 16 gigabytes. The G2 has a microSD card slot expandable up to 32 gigabytes, matching the Captivate and outpacing other series phones. Information about T-Mobile G2 accessories options are promised soon. T-Mobile G2 chargers should of course be included, and standards like official T-Mobile G2 cases are expected. For prices, other Galaxy S phones range from $59 (Captivate) up to $649 (Epic 4G), but the G2’s price is still under wraps. Still, there are specific rate that may be heavilty affected by the carrier associated. We just hope that the G2 will fall competitively withinthis range.

There are some minor drawbacks to the phone though. The phone is actually heavier than any other Galaxy S phone, but only by a single ounce (6.5 ounces versus the Epic 4G’s 5.5). The screen is 3.7 inches (diagonally), which is a surprise since every other Galaxy S phone is 4 inches. That’s not a huge difference, but some may dislike the decreased size. The last negative might be more significant. The G2 has an 800-megahertz processor; all other series phones have a 1-gigahertz processor. The latter is almost expected for modern Android phones, so the slower processor is a bit perplexing. Numbers can sometimes be misleading, so a lot of users might not be able to notice any different.

The G2 also offeres some great features. It does have 4G, joining only the Epic 4G among series phones. Theoretical download speeds reach 14.4 mbps (as stated by T-Mobile), and practical speeds should be fast enough for nearly anyone. (Data coverage can be viewed at T-Mobile’s website.) Fans of Android will love this: the G2 is one of only a handful of phones shipping with Android 2.2 (Froyo), and it’s the only Galaxy S phone that has Froyo preinstalled. It will have Flash support and the most updated, efficient Android OS. The G2 also has a QWERTY keyboard, just like the Epic 4G (the only phone in the Galaxy S series that has this feature). Phone keyboards are a watershed issue, but for what it’s worth, those who have gotten a sneak peak of the phone claim that the keyboard is easy to use.

The G2 continues a line of excellent phones, now offering two great Galaxy S options to T-Mobile customers. This is just an amazing phone for anyone, and it’s the perfect Galaxy S phone for those who want 4G, a physical keyboard, and the most up-to-date Android OS.
